1. Summary
This proposal recommends adopting an individual-based voting system for the upcoming Mangrove DAO council elections. Given the lack of activity since September and the departure of several previous council members from the core team, transitioning to an individual-based system will ensure that only committed individuals, aligned with the project’s success, are elected to the council. This approach allows any interested member to announce their candidacy on the forum, promoting transparency and inclusivity.
2. Rationale
- Inactivity Since September: For the past two months, the current council has not taken significant actions. Critical decisions are pending, hindering the project’s progress.
- Departure of Previous Council Members: Many former council members have left the core team and may no longer be aligned with the project’s goals. This creates a leadership gap that needs to be filled with dedicated individuals.
- Ensuring Commitment and Accountability: An individual-based election allows community members to assess each candidate’s commitment and qualifications directly. It ensures that elected council members are accountable to the community and are genuinely invested in the project’s success.
- Promoting Transparency and Inclusivity: Allowing individuals to declare their candidacy openly encourages broader participation and fosters a transparent election process.
